Abkhazia is the former autonomous republic within Georgia. The relations between Abkhazia and Georgia were spoiled after the armed conflict in 1991. Many Georgians were forced to flee their homes. The conflict was renewed in 2008 after the attack of the Georgian army in South Osetiya. Russia recognized Abkhazia an independent republic in the same year. 2006-2007
